Closing Process During COVID-19

04/07/2020   Interested in Remote Online Notaries? So are we and we're following this throughout each day as new information comes into play. At this point there are still many guidelines and requirements that must be met in order to make this happen.
Missouri Land Title Association (MLTA) is working to get the final pieces in place to make it a safe and insurable process. One step is to comply with lender standards and acceptance.
Additionally, we are working on getting notaries certified to work with vendors that are already set up across the country.

For now we are encouraged by our underwriters, health officials, and the MLTA to SOCIALLY DISTANT IN-PERSON CLOSINGS.
"We must be creative when implementing socially distant “in-person” closing/notarization protocols, while remaining compliant with our state’s current notarial laws and privacy act." Signors still need to appear before the notary.
Electronically executed documents are great when available, but conducting an in-person closing with barriers and appropriate distance between the settlement professional/notary and the signor is needed.
We are in a rural area, we understand you and your clients do not always have access to certain technology. So, we can do curbside, documents can be dropped off at their home or delivered to the nursing homes. Give us a call and we'll discuss options.
We face these situations daily and are here to help you through it. Our lobby and conference room remains open, we are staggering appointments and taking necessary precautions. Our secure mailbox in front serves as a great drop box for after hours or if you choose not to 'pop' in.
Let's work together to ensure your safety and ours. We're all in this together! Let's be Kind and Stay Safe!
